Vacuum Vulcanisation Technology A conventional, non-vacuum hydraulic press system is commonly to mould and produce rubber goods. It is sufficiently efficient and satisfactory when thick and bulky products are made from natural rubber, styrene-butadiene co-polymer (SBR), acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer (NBR) or nitrile rubber and butyl rubber. For thin films, membrane-like and thin-products, especially made from high nitrile, silicone rubbers, polyacrylic rubber, fluroelastomers, hydrogenated nitrile rubbers, and other specialty rubbers, the non-vacuum curing gives rise to porosity and surface blemishes. To overcome these shortcomings, a vacuum vulcanisation hydraulic press is used. The latest vacuum vulcanisation technology produces vulcanised sheet or products of better aesthetic value, high precision and more consistent in quality, less rejects and defects, and above all, the final performance of the parts endures and lasts longer. Currently, the Unit has 250 tonnes vacuum press for R&D and training purposes. |
