It has gained popularity and as the result there are a number of manufacturers now producing the precured tread and cushion gum for local consumption as well as for export market. One of the components that ensure the success of precured retreading is the cushion gum. It is a thin layer of NR compound used to bond the tread to the casing. The Unit has developed a fast curing cushion gum suitable for extruder-builder process for precured retreading.
