In conjunction with its 47th anniversary, the Malaysian Rubber Exchange (MRE) held its Annual Dinner on 30 October 2009 at One World Hotel, Bandar Utama. The response was overwhelming as more than 850 members and associates of the rubber industry and their guests attended the dinner. The dinner was hosted by Y.Bhg. Dato’ Dr Kamarul Baharain Basir, Chairman of the MRE who is also the Director-General of the Malaysian Rubber Board.
YB Tan Sri Bernard Giluk Dompok, the Honourable Minister of the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities was the special guest of honour. As had been in the past, the annual event provided the opportunities for the producers to interact with their consumer friends and business associates.
YB Tan Sri Bernard Giluk Dompok also gave away the prizes to the winners of the MRE Golf Tournament which was held earlier in the day.
