Malaysia will
host an international event for the rubber planting fraternity. The
IRRDB Natural Rubber Conference 2008 will take place from 13 - 15
October 2008 in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Carrying the theme, Enhancing
Productivity and Sustainability of Natural Rubber, the Conference
will draw participation from the rubber plantation sector including
planters, researchers, scientists, policy makers, consultants, entrepreneurs
as well as suppliers of products, machineries and services.
Organised jointly by Malaysian Rubber
Board and the International Rubber Research & Development Board (IRRDB),
the Conference will provide an interactive platform for researchers,
academicians and participants from the IRRDB member countries to share
knowledge and experience as well as be updated on the recent advancement
in Hevea research and development, especially in the upstream, midstream
and TOT sectors.
The scope of the conference will include:
· Crop physiology and harvesting technology
· Crop improvement and management
· Crop protection
· Biotechnology and midstream technology
· Transfer of technology and socio-economy
of smallholdings
