YB Senator A. Kohilan Pillay, the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodity, visited Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) on 4 April, 2008.
On hand to receive him upon arrival were Dato' Dr Kamarul Baharain Basir, Director General, MRB and members of the top management.
YB Senator Kohilan was briefed on the rubber industry as well as the programmes and strategies carried out by MRB to sustain the nation's strategic crop i.e. natural rubber.
A tour of the RRIM, MRB's Research Station
in Sungai Buloh, provided YB Senator Kohilan an insight into the R&D
work carried out by MRB. Budding operation and LITS were shown to
him as well as the Germplasm Collection and the International Rubber
Products Exhibition Centre. |
