33rd Meeting of the International Tripartite Rubber Council (ITRC) and Related Committee Meetings

The 33rd International Tripartite Rubber Council (ITRC) meeting and related committee meetings were held from the 2nd to 5th December 2019 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Senior government officials and representatives from three member countries namely Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia (TIM) attended these meetings, hosted by Ministry of Trade Indonesia. The Malaysian delegation was led by Mr Ravi Muthayah, Deputy Secretary General (Commodities), Ministry of Primary Industry (MPI).

The 33rd ITRC meeting was chaired by Mr. Antonius Yudi Triantoro, the Director for APEC and International Organisation Negotiation, Ministry of Trade Indonesia. The meeting provided a platform for delegates to exchange views on issues related to the rubber market situation and its impact on all member countries, particularly the rubber smallholders. Among key matters discussed include relevant measures to support rubber prices as well as implementation of the 6th Agreed Export Tonnage Scheme (AETS).

Several committee meetings were held prior to the 33rd ITRC Meeting such as the 30th Statistical Committee Meeting, 6th AETS Monitoring and Surveillance Committee (AETS-MSC) Meeting for the 6th AETS Implementation and 12th Demand Promotion Scheme Committee (DPSC) Meeting.
