MRB-IRRDB International Workshop on Soil Fertility, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Productivity

On 9th April 2019, Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) and the International Rubber Research Development (IRRDB) have jointly organised the International Workshop on Soil Fertility, Good Agriculture Practices and Productivity in Mahkota Hotel, Melaka. The ceremony was officiated by Mr Ravi Muthayah, Deputy Secretary-General (Commodities), Ministry of Primary Industries. Also present at the event were Dr Amir Hashim Md Yatim, MRB Deputy Director General (Research & Innovation), Datuk Dr Abdul Aziz S.A. Kadir Secretary-General of IRRDB, local and international participants.

The main objective of this workshop is to enhance knowledge among the researchers and industry players especially on the latest technologies including soil fertility, harvesting technology, precision and good agricultural practices. It also provides a platform for the participants to exchange ideas and expertise with representatives from the IRRDB member countries.

The speakers invited were representatives from MRB, IRRDB and local universities. Besides the paper presentations, exhibitions on upstream technologies, products and rubber industry were also displayed to promote MRB R&D activities. It is hoped that this workshop has benefited all the participants in enhancing their knowledge in soil fertility, good agriculture practices and productivity.
