Director General of The National Visual Arts Development Board visits MRB’s exhibition booth in ITEX 2017

This year, the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) submitted four new innovations to the International Invention, Innovation & Technology Expo (ITEX 2017) held on 11th to 13th May 2017 in Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. Among the innovations that won gold from MRB was Natural Rubber Artwork: A New Technique and Green User friendly Medium for Visual Arts. This victory opened up a tremendous opportunity for MRB when the Director General of the National Visual Arts Development Board YBhg Prof Datuk Dr Mohamed Najib held an official visit to MRB's booth to personally see the product.

The delegates of the one-hour visit was greeted by YBrs Tuan Mohammad Tuan Muda, Director of Extension and Development division in addition to Dr. Asrul as project leader and Mr. Ahmad Suhaimi Nordin as MRB’s in-house artist. Various questions on the product were raised by YBhg Prof Datuk Mohamed Najib as well as some suggestions to MRB. He also extended an invitation to MRB for a visit to the National Visual Arts Gallery for further discussion of the commercialization potential of the products.

The visit became a platform to bring MRB’s new technology further with assistance of globally recognized bodies while at the same time have a positive impact on the introduction of the rubber industry in the national arts industry.
