The MRB Management team organised a Management Retreat from 8 to 11 June 2012 to discuss, review and plan the activities for 2012. The programme started with the Head of Units from the services sector presenting their half year achievements and the plans for the 2H2012. The MRB Board members in the R&D Committee also attended the Management Retreat and gave their views and comments when research officers presented their projects as deposited in the RnD Sold. Apart from the presentations, the Getah Untuk Pribumi (GUP) Committee also held their meeting along with the ISO Management Review Meeting. Dr Suarni Sumormo, the Deputy Director General (Policy and Operations) presented the status of the MRB and MRI Strategies while YBhg Datuk Dr Salmiah Ahmad, the Director General presented a paper titled Sustaining the Malaysian Rubber Industry in a High Income Economy – Closing the Gaps.
The retreat provided the perfect environment to address long-range issues such as a review of the Unit’s short term plans and the organisations long term strategic direction.
