The Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) Central Regional Office participated in the Hari Pekebun Kecil Bersama Pemimpin organised by the Persatuan Kebangsaan Pekebun-pekebun Kecil Malaysia (PKPKM) on 7th April 2012 in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan. YB Dato' Hj Hassan b. Malek, Deputy Minister of the Rural and Regional Development officiated the Dialogue Session between PKPKM, MRB, RISDA and FELDA. The dialogue was attended by more than 300 participants from the smallholders sector.
This dialogue provided a platform for members to raise issues and problems faced by them. The dialogue session was chaired by YBhg. Dato’ Hj Aliasak Hj Ambia, President of PKPKM.
Among the issues raised were, the KAT-G Registration, application of licenses A(i)A(ii) in FELDA area, rubber re-planting in Rancangan Tanam Baru Berkelompok (RTBB), Tanam Semula Sawit (TSS), Tanam Baru Komoditi Getah (TBKG) and shortage of rubber planting materials.
The interaction was fruitful as participants were able to express their views and gave constructive recommendations for the development of the rubber industry in Malaysia.
