Two
medals won by the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) at the recent 34th
International Exhibition of Inventions, New Techniques and Products
in Geneva, has added another feather in the MRB cap. Research project
entitled "Environmentally Friendly Alternative Method for Processing
Waste Latex into Value-Added Raw Materials to Achieve a Zero Discharge"
by Devaraj Veerasamy, Dr Zairossani Mohd Nor and DR Yusof Aziz won
two awards. One was a Gold Medal under the category Protection of
the Environment, and the other was a Special Award, ECOINVENT, which
was given by the Romania Inventors Society.
Another
research project, “Production of protein from Natural Rubber Serum
as a source of Industrial Bio-chemicals” by Dr Zairossani Mohd Nor
and Dr Yusof Aziz won a Silver Medal under the category Industrial
Process.
This achievement shall inspire young research
officers of the MRB, no doubt.
