| A one
day seminar on Raw Rubber Processing was organised by the Malaysian
Rubber Board on 11 September 2006 in Kuala Lumpur. Minister of Plantation
Industries and Commodities, Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui, officiated
the seminar themed "Issues and Challenges". The seminar provided
a platform for Malaysian rubber processors and those involved in
related activities to discuss issues concerning licensing, availability
of raw materials, quality control, determination of dry rubber content
(DRC) and environment.
During the seminar, a total of eight papers were presented. Included
in the seminar's programme was a Round Table Dialogue and a Panel
Discussion. The seminar was attended by 200 participants from the
mid stream sector of the rubber industry.
