A Chart to Help Determine DRC of Cuplumps

Minister Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui, Ministry of Plantation Industries and CommoditiesUp till now, determination of the Dry Rubber Content (DRC) of cuplumps at the farm is mainly done by visual inspection based on one's experience. This is because the standard scientific method that is conducted in the laboratory is time consuming and requires a significant investment for testing equipment.

Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) has introduced a simple-to-use chart that can assist the user to determine the DRC of 0-14 day old cuplumps. Launched recently by the Honorable Minister Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui, Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities, the chart is on sale at a nominal price of RM10.00 by MRB.

The objectives of producing the chart are three-fold :

  (i)   To provide information on DRC based on the number of days the cuplumps have been stored.
(ii)  To ensure transparency and guidance on determining DRC when buying and selling rubber.
(iii) To encourage the production of quality cuplumps.

The chart would be useful to smallholders, rubber dealers and personnel of rubber processing factories. For enquiries and further information contact:
